About Us

The 79th meeting of the BoG convened on 4th August 1979 approved the appointment of Dean (Faculty) with a basic intention of faculty recruitment and internal promotions. Among other functions, it was expected that the Dean (Faculty) would periodically initiate studies on faculty requirements and the faculty structure of different academic units. The first appointment of Dean (Faculty) took place in 2003, and since then, the responsibilities associated with this position have undergone substantial expansion.

Leadership History

Since its establishment, the Dean (Faculty) office has been under the guidance of experienced faculty members who collectively have served in the role of Dean (Faculty) over the years. The former Deans have made significant contributions to the Institution, playing a pivotal role in shaping the operations within the office.

The office of Dean (Faculty) assists various Faculty related activities such as Faculty recruitment, selection, appointments, career progression.

          The Faculty Handbook (see page no. 62-65) provides the details of various types of leaves applicable to faculty members such as (Casual Leave, Special Casual Leave, Earned Leave, Vacation Leave etc.). The leave has to be applied through the EP portal.

         Sabbatical and Long Leave needs to be applied offline.
