Leave travel concession (LTC)
To be eligible for LTC, employees on the designated scale must have completed one year of service within the block. Once every two years, you are entitled to a paid travel to your hometown under the LTC scheme. LTC block years are defined for two years, starting from January 1st of an even year (e.g., 2020) and ending on December 31st of an odd year. If you do not avail LTC during this block year, it usually expires. Two consecutive block years are combined to form a four-year block. Within this four-year block, you can utilize LTC for travel to your hometown in one two-year block, and for travel anywhere in India in the other two-year block. If both spouses work for the Institute, they can claim LTC separately only if their declared dependents are different. You can apply for advance for the travel. For further details you may contact LTC Unit on Extn. 4022
